New island, marked only as 'danger zone' on marine maps, discovered by German researchers
German researchers have discovered a new island, which was only marked as a "danger zone" on nautical charts (marine maps) in Antarctica. Sharing pictures of the same, the country's Embassy in London said, "The task now is to find a name for it." The island is about 130 metres long, 50 metres wide and extends about 16 metres above water.
