New material that controls heat like a computer chip developed

Researchers have developed a new smart material that allows heat to be programmed much like data stored in a computer chip. By pairing a magneto-optical material with a phase change material known as GST, they created a device that can direct thermal radiation, switch modes and retain its settings without continuous power. This can pave way for better energy technologies.
