New method proposed to detect secret nuclear weapons in space

MIT researcher Areg Danagoulian has proposed a novel system to verify compliance with the Outer Space Treaty. By using inspector satellites to detect neutron emissions caused by radiation belts, the technology could identify hidden nuclear material in orbit. While still a proof-of-concept, the research addresses critical verification gaps regarding the protection of vital satellite infrastructure.
