Scientists from the Botanical Survey of India have discovered a rare new moss species, Indopottia himalayensis, at 1,900 meters in Uttarakhand's Madhyamaheshwar region. Found clinging to soil-covered rocks, this 13mm plant marks only the third known species of its genus globally, differing from its tree-dwelling cousins in southern India and Thailand.
