New population of blue whales found in Indian Ocean: Researchers

Researchers have discovered a new population of blue whales in the western Indian Ocean. Every blue whale population sings a unique song and researchers described a new blue whale song heard from the Arabian Sea coast of Oman across to the Chagos Archipelago. Dr Salvatore Cerchio, Visiting Scientist at the New England Aquarium, first recorded the novel song in 2017.
