New prosthetic leg tech lets amputees feel foot, knee in real-time
ETH Zurich-led researchers have developed a new prosthetic leg technology with sensors and electrodes to give wearers a sense of knee movement and feedback from the foot's sole on the ground. The modified prosthetic helped two patients with above-the-knee amputations walk faster and consume less oxygen. The two patients also saw significant loss in phantom limb pain.
