New red porcelain crab species discovered in Lakshadweep

Scientists have discovered a striking new species of porcelain crab, Pachycheles ravichandrani, in the shallow coral reefs of Agatti Island, Lakshadweep. Sporting a deep carmine-red shell with white markings, this tiny crustacean was found hiding under coralline-algae-covered boulders in less than a meter of water. Researchers suggest more species may remain undiscovered off the coast.
