New study calls marble dumping site in Rajasthan 'toxic tourist destination'
Scientific studies conducted by the Central University of Rajasthan dubbed the marble waste dumping yard in Rajasthan's Kishangarh a toxic tourist destination. It found that toxic contamination of water is 10 times above safe limit near the site, which attracts at least 5,000 tourists daily. Professor Laxmi Kant Sharma explained that waste particles could cause silicosis, a fatal lung disease.
