New timings for schools, govt offices announced in Punjab amid heatwave

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Friday that government offices and all schools for all classes will open from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM from May 25 amid the ongoing heatwave. The move aims to reduce exposure to peak afternoon heat for employees, teachers and students. Notably, several states have declared summer vacations for schools, including Haryana and Rajasthan.
