New Transgender Bill violates right to self-identification: Jaya

Veteran actress and MP Jaya Bachchan has criticised the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Friday. She said, "This Bill takes away the right to self-identification, which was a landmark ruling by the Supreme Court in 2014." She suggested a representative of the transgender community be nominated in Parliament to directly address their issues.
