New US Ambassador reaches Beijing amid tense US-China relations

The US embassy on Saturday said the new US Ambassador Nicholas Burns on Friday reached Beijing, amid tense relations between US and China over Taiwan, human rights and the war in Ukraine. Relations remain tense following the US-led diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics in protest over human rights violations and China's diplomatic support of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
