New York bans 150-year-old horse carriages after Indian tourist's death
New York's city council on Thursday voted to ban over 150-year-old horse-drawn carriages in Central Park. This comes months after an 18-year-old tourist from India was killed by a horse that got loose and bolted. If New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani signs the measure into law, the ban will go into effect in June of 2028.
