New York Governor declares state of emergency due to winter storm

New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency for counties affected by a winter storm. The US National Weather Service said the storm would impact the state through Saturday morning, bringing widespread snow, isolated freezing rain and gusty winds. It also issued warnings and winter weather advisories for parts of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island.
