New York tops Oxford Economics’ Global Cities Index 2026, London ranks 2nd

New York retained the top spot in Oxford Economics Global Cities Index 2026, with its economy worth $2.6 trillion in 2025, the largest in the index. London ranked second, followed by Paris while Seattle and San Francisco secured fourth and fifth places. The index scores cities across five categories: Economics, Human Capital, Quality of Life, Environment and Governance.
