New York-based company makes furniture from fungus
New York-based biomaterials company 'Ecovative Design', uses mycelium, the vegetative part of a fungus, to grow biodegradable furniture. The company combines agricultural waste with mycelium, which is packed into bags for a few days to grow into a solid structure. Their furniture line includes stools, desk organisers and key holders, priced between $5 to $1,199 (approximately ₹338 to ₹81,280).
