New Zealand recorded their highest partnership for fifth wicket in Test cricket history during their first innings against England in the second Test. Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell shared a 236-run stand to set the record. The previous record was held by Nathan Astle and Craig McMillan, who shared a 222-run stand against Zimbabwe in Wellington in 2000.
