NGT asks Volkswagen to submit ₹100 crore over cheat devices

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday ordered Volkswagen to deposit an interim amount of ₹100 crore with the Central Pollution Control Board of India for allegedly using cheat device in emission tests of its diesel vehicles. A school teacher and a few other people had filed a plea against the German carmaker for alleged violation of emission norms.
