NHAI to upgrade 1033 helpline with AI, real-time tracking

NHAI will upgrade its 1033 National Highway Helpline with AI, real-time location tracking, and smart emergency-response systems. The upgrade will enable caller location identification, multilingual call understanding, and faster assistance. Human operators will remain central to emergency decisions. The helpline, launched in 2018, covers 1.46 lakh km of highways and operates 24/7.
