Nifty IT jumps 11.5% in biggest weekly rally in nearly 18 years

The Nifty IT surged 11.5% in the week ended October 16, marking its biggest weekly percentage gain since the week ended October 31, 2008, when it rose 11.24%. Nearly 40 Nifty constituents posted positive returns, with gains of up to 18%. Tech Mahindra, TCS, Infosys, HCL Technologies and Bajaj Auto were among the top Nifty gainers during the week.
