Nirav Modi moves UK court to reopen extradition case, cites 'torture risk'

Fugitive businessman Nirav Modi approached the London High Court in another bid to delay his extradition to India, citing "risk of torture" and coercive interrogation by investigating agencies in India. Nirav's lawyer claimed custodial mistreatment in India is “endemic” and flagged the absence of effective monitoring mechanisms. A two-judge bench hearing the case has reserved its judgment.
