NIT Silchar student dies by suicide, students launch protest against college

An engineering student of NIT Silchar in Assam died by alleged suicide following which students launched an agitation against the college administration. At least 40 students were injured after they clashed with police. A student alleged the deceased had requested authorities to conduct a special examination so that he could clear his backlogs but his request was denied.
