NITI Aayog ex-VC Panagariya appointed Finance Commission Chairman

Former NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya has been appointed as Finance Commission Chairman, according to a Finance Ministry notification. The ministry's Joint Secretary Ritvik Ranjanam Pandey has been appointed as the commission's Secretary, the notification added. The commission will make recommendations on distribution of net tax proceeds between Centre and states, among other matters.
