Nitish, Lalu namesakes lose security deposits in Bankipur bypoll

Namesakes of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, both contesting as Independents, forfeited their deposits in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll. Lalu Prasad Yadav secured 81 votes (0.06%), while Nitish Kumar got 149 votes (0.11%). Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor won the seat by defeating the BJP candidate by over 19,000 votes.
