NYU neuroscientist Nikolay Kukushkin said on the podcast that, based on clinical cases, having no dopamine is much worse than having a lot. Dopamine is not the pleasure molecule, he said, but it creates the sense of wanting something. "If we learn to understand that there's no resolution...you can derive pleasure from being motivated," he added.
