No evidence to say Omicron variant less severe than Delta: UK study

A study by the Imperial College, London found no evidence of Omicron variant having "lower severity than Delta" considering the number of tests or hospitalisations after infection. The study found out that the risk of reinfection is 5.4 times higher with Omicron variant. This implied that the protection against reinfection is very low. The study is yet to be peer-reviewed.
