No immediate health threat to India from hantavirus: ICMR-NIV
Director of ICMR's National Institute of Virology, Dr Naveen Kumar, has said "there is no immediate public health threat to India" from hantavirus. Stating the reported hantavirus cases appear to be isolated ones, he added that, unlike COVID-19, human-to-human transmission here is "extremely uncommon". This comes amid reports that two Indians were aboard a cruise ship hit by hantavirus.
