No intention to increase ethanol blending in fuel beyond 20%: Govt

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said the Centre has no immediate plan to raise ethanol blending in petrol beyond the current 20%. He also said misinformation was being spread about biofuels. On Monday, the government amended the Central Motor Vehicles Rules to permit flex-fuel vehicles running on up to E100, or nearly pure ethanol.
