No Khel Ratna awardee named for first time in 12 years

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced the National Sports Awards 2025 on Tuesday, with no recipient named for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. This is the first time in 12 years that the ministry hasn't named a Khel Ratna awardee, with the last such instance occurring in 2014. Meanwhile, 17 sportspersons will receive the Arjuna Award.
