No meat sale within 500m of UP religious places ahead of Navratri

The UP government on Saturday ordered closure of illegal slaughterhouses and ban on sale of meat within 500 metres of religious places ahead of nine-day Navratri festival. A total ban on animal slaughter and meat sales will be in place on Ram Navami (April 6). District-level committees have been constituted under chairmanship of district magistrates to make the decision effective.
