No more unknown callers as govt makes caller name display mandatory
India's Department of Telecommunications has directed telecom operators to implement Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) from November 1. The service will display callers' names alongside their numbers, using saved contacts or telecom subscriber records. CNAP will be enabled by default for every user on 4G and higher-generation mobile networks, such as 5G.
