Considering rape as a non-compoundable offence, the Delhi High Court has asked lower courts to refrain from quashing FIRs in sexual assault cases where the victim and the accused came to a settlement. The decision came as the court dismissed a rape accused's petition to quash FIR, since he had married the victim after reaching a settlement with her.
