No plan to introduce 4-day work week in govt offices: Centre

The Centre has no plan to introduce a four-day work week or a 40-hour work week for central government employees, Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar told Lok Sabha. The government had introduced five days work per week and 8.5 hours of work per day, based on Fourth Central Pay Commission's recommendation, he said. The status quo will be maintained, he added.
