No question of sympathy: Assam CM on arrests over child marriage

Amid criticism of the state government's crackdown against child marriages, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "There's no question of sympathy here...Child marriage has to stop in Assam and action against it will continue." He directed district collectors to help those who are struggling financially after their husbands' arrests. This drive will continue till 2026 Assembly polls, he said.
