No room for complacency as inflation persists: Fed’s Jeff Schmid

Federal Reserve official Jeff Schmid stated the central bank cannot be complacent as inflation has been above target for nearly five years. He highlighted pressures from Trump tariffs on goods and services. Although Schmid believes AI will eventually drive non-inflationary growth, he asserted the US is not yet at that stage.
