No room for fake encounters in civilised society: NHRC chairperson

National Human Rights Commission Chairperson Justice Arun Mishra said that there should be no room for fake encounters or extrajudicial killings by the police and security forces in a civilised society. "There is no room for instant justice in India," he added. Mishra made the remarks when asked about alleged fake encounters carried out by the police in Assam.
