No social media without consent for under-13s: BJP MP in private member's bill

BJP MP Baijayant Panda's Private Member's Bill 'SHIELD, 2025' was deferred for a second time after Lok Sabha was adjourned on Friday. The bill seeks to bar children under 13 from creating accounts on social media and online gaming platforms without verified parental consent. It also seeks to prevent platforms from exposing under-18s to pornography, gambling, violent and drug-related content.
