Nobody has right over govt land, even under waqf by user: Centre

The Centre told the Supreme Court that nobody can claim rights over government land. Representing the Centre, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said the government is legally empowered to reclaim properties which are declared waqf by using the waqf by user principle. "We are eradicating the menace," he said, responding to the submissions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf Act.
