Noise pollution exceeds permissible limit in 7 Indian cities

The average level of noise pollution exceeds permissible limits in seven cities of the country including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, the government said on Monday. This was revealed through the data collected from a network of 70 noise-monitoring stations under National Ambient Noise Monitoring Programme. The data included noise due to horns, air conditioners, refrigerators, and gensets.
