A penguin, Sir Nils Olav, was awarded the title of a Brigadier by the Norwegian Army at the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland. Sir Nils Olav was knighted in 2008 and is an honorary member of the King of Norway’s guard. Interestingly, the practice of honouring penguins began in the 1970s and three penguins have been given honorary titles since then.
