Not our responsibility: Prasar Bharati to Delhi HC on plea to broadcast FIFA World Cup in India

Prasar Bharati has told Delhi High Court it bears no responsibility for acquiring FIFA World Cup 2026 broadcasting rights in India. The submission came during hearing on a petition seeking free-to-air telecast. The petitioner argued no broadcaster has secured Indian media rights yet and that failure to ensure telecast would deprive Indian citizens of their fundamental right to receive information.
