Not surprised by BTS' Grammys exit, US artists get preference: Salim

Salim Merchant said he was not surprised by BTS' withdrawal from Grammys 2027 after the Asian Pop category was introduced as "the Academy gives preference to their artists". "As a non-American, there are very less chances your entry will come in the main category," Salim added. BTS criticised the category and said music shouldn't be "divided by region or language".
