Not thinking of withdrawing ₹500 notes or reintroducing ₹1,000 notes: RBI

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has said that the central bank is not thinking of withdrawing ₹500 notes or reintroducing ₹1,000 notes. Das requested public not to speculate. He further said that around 50% of ₹2,000 currency notes in circulation as of March 31 have returned to the banking system.
