NPCI MD & CEO Dilip Asbe said the new 0.4% MDR on UPI P2M transactions above ₹2,000, effective October 15, won't significantly impact volumes. He noted 96% of P2M transactions remain unaffected, revenues will reinvest into the ecosystem, and the government has directed banks not to pass MDR costs to customers.
