NRI deposits fall by nearly ₹19,000 crore in March amid West Asia crisis
Outstanding non-resident Indian deposits fell by roughly $2 billion (over ₹19,000 crore) in March amid the West Asia conflict. According to RBI data, NRI deposits stood at $165.65 billion at the end of March, compared to $167.58 billion a month earlier. Meanwhile, NRI deposit inflows fell to $14.41 billion in 2025-26 from $16.16 billion in the preceding fiscal year.
