Nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought: US, Russia, China, UK and France

In a joint statement, US, Russia, China, UK and France have agreed that a further spread of nuclear arms and a nuclear war should be avoided. "We affirm that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought," the statement read. "We also affirm that nuclear weapons should serve defensive purposes...and prevent war," the countries said.
