Number of vehicles in Pune overtakes city's human population

With 36.2 lakh registered vehicles, the number of vehicles in Pune has surpassed the estimated 35 lakh population of the city, the city's RTO chief has said. The number of vehicles in the city increased by 8.6% in 2017-18, with 74.6% registered vehicles being two-wheelers. The RTO registered ₹1,021 crore revenue in 2017-18, overshooting the target by 118%.
