Nusrat Choudhury becomes US' first Muslim female federal judge

Civil rights lawyer Nusrat Choudhury has been confirmed by the Senate as the first Muslim female federal judge in US history. She will also be the first Bangladeshi-American federal judge. She'll serve as a federal judge for the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York. US President Joe Biden nominated her to the federal bench in 2022.
