NVIDIA acquires Arm Holdings from SoftBank for $40 billion

US-based graphics card maker NVIDIA has officially announced the acquisition of British chip designer Arm Holdings from Japanese conglomerate SoftBank in a deal worth $40 billion. "Our combination will create a company fabulously positioned for the age of AI," said NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang. The companies expect to close the cash and stock transaction within the next 18 months.
