NYC Mayor Mamdani celebrates Raksha Bandhan, gets rakhis tied on wrist

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the Indian community in the city. Mamdani visited India Home, a community centre serving South Asian seniors, to celebrate the festival and shared pictures of women tying rakhis to him. “On Raksha Bandhan, a single thread symbolises a powerful promise: to protect, support, and stand by one another,” he said.
