Within just four years of its launch, Uber has taken over New York's iconic yellow cabs, in terms of number. The city now has 13,587 registered yellow taxis, but 14,088 Uber cars, revealed the Taxi and Limousine Commission. However, the yellow taxis are still more active than Uber cabs, serving about 15 times more passengers on a daily basis.
